Even IF Serena Wasn’t RIGHT...She WASN’T All Wrong!

Referee Carlos Ramos seemed to derail Serena Williams’ chance at winning the U.S. Open Saturday and, like too many referees today, seemed to want to become the star of the Finals.

The “coaching” call, over signaling by Serena Williams’ coach (Patrick Mouratoglou) has been a contentious one for awhile now.

Apparently, in the 2^nd game of the first set, Ramos spotted Mouratoglou holding his hands apart, possibly indicating to Williams that she should be playing a little closer to the baseline, and she was instantly handed a code violation.

Although it was Mouratoglou who was the one communicating with Williams, the rules say that players are responsible for the conduct of their parties, and so Williams was punished.

This first penalty, came as a warning, but it directly led to the dramatic events that followed, in which Williams was handed a second violation and penalized a point for smashing her racquet, after she’d apparently mistakenly thought that she and Ramos had reached an understanding on the first call.

Then, after calling Ramos a "thief", she was slugged with a further penalty — this time an entire game — on her way to a straight sets loss.

Such in game coaching is allegedly very common and USUALLY iconic stars (Williams IS one) are treated a little differently, for instance LeBron James and Tom Brady. There’s rarely been any such deference offered to Serena Williams, perhaps the most dominant sports figure in modern times.

Serena Williams should not have had her match derailed like that, but it happened.

Former players readily acknowledge that coaching during matches is endemic on the tour, raising the question as to whether it is being policed properly, or even at all.

“I was coaching but I don’t think she looked at me,” said Mouratoglou afterwards. “I am honest, I was coaching, Sascha [Bajin, Osaka’s coach] was coaching the whole time too. This is one of the rules that is ruining tennis. She [Serena Williams] will struggle to come back from this.”

Worse still, is that in the post-match controversy, she’s taken most of the blame, for a meltdown as much triggered by an inflexible umpire’s stubbornness as by Serena Williams’ temper.

Perhaps the worst abuse came from Aussie cartoonist Mark Knight with the ugly cartoon below.

Michael Goodwin is right that, "America is being scandalized by four enormous events that are happening simultaneously. By scandalized, I mean that people are shocked and outraged at what they regard as breaches of acceptable behavior or morality.

"That wouldn’t be a problem if the vast majority were scandalized by the same things. That’s not the America we have. The vicious polarization stems from the fact that the country is split almost exactly in half over what people are outraged about." He lists the four scandalizing events as, first, Donald Trump’s boorish Presidency, although he correctly notes; "Still, Trump won the election fairly and the economy is booming, yet too many Americans can’t accept those truths. Their attempts to bring him down define the three other scandalizing events."

Those other three scandalizing events are, the implosion of our mainstream media. Goodwin's observation, "For the latest example, look at how CNN is supporting one of its anti-Trump stories even though its source, lawyer Lanny Davis, says he gave the network wrong information. So the world knows the story is wrong, but CNN won’t admit it.

"Instead of making Trump look good, CNN would rather make itself look bad and confirm Trump’s assertion that it promotes fake news. How crazy is that?"

The next event he notes is the behavior of some federal agencies. The DoJ, the FBI and the CIA, that all, in his words, "took liberties that were morally offensive, and possibly illegal," noting that some of those bad actors were "dumb enough" to put some of those things in writing!

The final scandalizing event Michael Goodwin notes is the foolish reaction of Democrats.

In Goodwin's view, the "Dems’ answers to his presidency can be divided into two: political assassination and political suicide."

He's also correct that the "political assassination" group has gone all in on the Mueller investigation, which has yet to come up with any evidence of collusion, Lanny Davis' misinforming CNN, not withstanding. The Manafort trial revealed no evidence of collusion, nor has apparently anything gleaned from the Cohen indictment.

Goodwin's right that those prospects of Mueller proving collusion are remote, which is why, in what looks like hysterical desperation that group has retreated to the hope that Stormy Daniels might bring the Trump administration to an end.

Consider that no one got all that worked up over Bill Clinton having sex in the Oval Office. Even the presumed coercion wasn't seen as a big deal, even by the National Organization for Women! NOT their finest hour.

According to Goodwin, the "political suicide" Dems are those who've embraced going even further Left. Let's see if that changes if Buffalo voters put the daffy Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, OR if they actually vote in Joe Crowley, who is STILL on the ballot for November.

Chuck Todd's "Bombshell" Prediction...Wrong?

On Thursday, August 30th, NBC's Chuck Todd said, "I wouldn't miss work tomorrow," claiming a Mueller "bombshell" might be released Friday, August 31st.

It didn't happen.

Did MSNBC just dash viewer hopes again, OR, did Robert Mueller delay an announcement out of respect for John McCain's Saturday Funeral?

It COULD BE the latter.

In that case, the Mueller team MAY be poised to make such an announcement this week, as Friday, the 7th enters into that 60 day window that Mueller and others have acknowledged as a period that should be free from any actions that may effect electoral outcomes.

So, if something's coming, it'll probably be THIS week, or sometimevAFTER November 6th.

There ARE some high profile possibilities. After all, even Roger Stone has been predicting his and Donald Trump Jr.'s indictment for nearly a month, as he's begged for donations to his defense fund. (full disclosure...I gave)

I DON'T believe the Trump Tower meetings constituted "collusion." Those tapes have existed for over two years (Summer, 2016) and they've been reviewed, even scrutinized since.

If they were truly damning, Donald Trump Jr., who was in attendance, would've/SHOULD'VE been indicted over a year ago.

NBC News has reported that Kristin Davis, a close friend of Roger Stone's and the former "Manhattan Madam," who helped run a prostitution ring patronized by well-connected New Yorkers, has testified before the Mueller grand jury.

It's also been reported that another Stone associate, Randy Credico, has testified before the Mueller team.

Still another Stone associate, Andrew Miller, has been held in contempt of court by a Washington federal judge for refusing to testify.

In Roger Stone's letter asking for donations to his legal defense fund, he says that, "I now know Trump-targeting prosecutors have been monitoring my e-mails, text messages, and phone calls since 2016! They still have no evidence of Russian Collusion, or any other illegal activity."

Stone claims, "I am guilty of nothing other than supporting Donald Trump."

However, he did earlier claim, after denying having met with any Russians during the campaign that he did meet with a Russian man offering "dirt" on Hillary Clinton in May, 2016 on a Florida golf course.

He told prosecutors, he'd "simply forgotten that encounter," because "nothing ever came of it."

Roger Stone has said that he expects Donald Trump Jr. to be indicted for lying to the FBI.

Of course, NONE of these would be "bombshells" UNLESS accompanied by some verifiable proof of Trump team collusion.

Even worse, IF the Mueller team does look indict Donald Trump Jr. &/or Roger Stone within the two month election window, that, in and of itself, would be evidence that those who've claimed the investigation was entirely politically motivated...were right.

The Tenor of These Times

Here's a letter sent to Michael Goodwin of the NY Post.

It reflects about 50% of the popukation's views on the election of Donald Trump.

The political-media class hasn't been able to make the case for an Anglo-American Globalism that the rest of the world has roundly rejected.

In 2016, the American people voted in a political outsider to change things. They'd voted for change in 2008 and 2012, but never got it.

Now there IS change occurring, but that hasn't gone over well with the American political-media class and their masters - the global financial elite.

Here's that letter;

OK, I'll say it; I DON'T believe Donald Trump ever "besmirched" Senator John McCain.

He acknowledged and praised his service, but doubted his "heroism."

Many Veterans who'd known him did too, but it's galling when someone who didn't serve, especially someone who legally avoided the draft takes a shot any Veteran.

ALL who served warrant respect for that service, but military hero is akin to a professional sports "Star."

YES, it's true that VERY few people make it into the NBA, NFL, or MLB and fewer still ever start on a team. Just making to "the big leagues" warrants respect for that person's athleticism, but few...VERY FEW ever become "stars." Not every starter is a "star," just as not everyone who served in the military, is a "hero."

Many Vets, including many former POW's detested John McCain, calling him, "Hanoi John," and "Songbird."

Moreover, Naval archives suggest that McCain's "wet start," on the USS Forestal, on July 29th, 1967, sent flames rocketing out his jet's engines, igniting a Zuni missile on the plane behind him.

That missile hit McCain's plane, but its safety device kept it from detonating from that glancing blow, but it continued on, and slammed into other ordinance stored on deck, causing a conflagration that killed 134 sailors and wounded 161 others.

But it's NOT his service that is most questionable, it's his political career that has been far more troublesome.

He led the charge to shut down the Congressional POW/MIA investigations and he continually voted AGAINST increased funding for Veterans health...as well as AGAINST the Zadroga Bill, funding healthcare for 9/11 First Responders.

Some  of Senator McCain's critical votes on Veteran issues are:

In 2006, McCain voted against a funding amendment (S. Amdt. 3704) to provide $20 million to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for health care facilities [source: U.S. Senate].

He voted against another 2006 amendment (S. Amdt. 3642) that provided the VA an additional $430 million in funding for outpatient care and treatment for veterans [source: U.S. Senate].

McCain voted against S. Amdt. 3007 in 2006, which would have provided an additional $1.5 billion in funding for veterans' health care in FY 2007 by closing tax loopholes [source: U.S. Senate].

In 2005, he voted against an amendment to provide an additional $500 million for veterans' mental health care for each year between 2006 and 2010 (S. Amdt. 2634) [source: U.S. Senate].

Please NRA, Just DON'T Do It!

NY State, among other jurisdictions, is seeking to expand the existing criminal and mental/emotional health restrictions on gun ownership.

Has someone from Andy Cuomo's administration been reading my blog (http://workingclassconservative.blogspot.com/?m=1)?

I've been advocating ratcheting up those restrictions for years.

Right now, the criminal restrictions require a felony conviction.

With the stroke of a pen, that could be changed to anyone CHARGED with a violent crime, even if it's pled down to a lesser offense. Domestic abusers, even those sentenced to Anger Management CAN, by law, be barred from legally owning guns.

SAME with mental/emotional health restrictions. The current requirement of having to have been institutionalized for a mental/emotional problem, is ridiculous, given how rare such involuntary confinements are today.

Again, with the stroke of a pen, anyone diagnosed and treated for any mental/emotional problem, from Depression to PTSD CAN be barred from legally owning guns.

The NRA would be foolish to fight such sensible and relatively minor expansions.

ESPECIALLY the mental/emotional health provisions. Given that almost every mass shooter has been diagnosed as mentally ill - Jared Loughner, Dylann Roof, Adam Lanza, James Holmes, Seung-Hui Cho, Micah X. Johnson, and now David Katz, the Jacksonville, FL shooter (https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/08/28/us/jacksonville-madden-shooter-katz-mental-health-invs/index.html), there's really no way to argue AGAINST ratcheting up the restrictions on mental/emotional health.

ANYONE diagnosed with ANY serious mental/emotional illness, from Depression, to PTSD, to Bipolar Disorder, to Schizophrenia SHOULD BE barred from legally owning firearms.

So, to the NRA, I'd say, DON'T DO IT!

Hillary Clinton offered her explanation of her 2016 loss, in her ponderous, whining tome, "Whaaa Happened," blaming "the media," specifically CNN & MSNBC, for not doing enough, nor campaigning hard enough, for her, and James Comey, despite saving her from immediate criminal indictment by changing his last phrase in describing her handling of classified information FROM "grossly negligent" (a criminal charge), TO  "extremely careless" (a non-legal term) for her own unelectability.

Trump was, in many ways, a creation of the DNC, which early on set two agendas, (1) eliminating Bernie Sanders as a viable Democratic opponent within that Party's Primaries and, (2) undermining the probable Republican opposition they were most concerned about (Bush, Rubio, Walker).

They initially saw Trump as the surest loser in a general election and the Democrat-controlled media lavished the most attention, the most coverage and the most free air time to Donald Trump.

On May 22nd, 2016, a national poll showed Trump leading 43.4% to 43.2%. The first time Trump led in any such poll.

Then, on May 25th, 2016 the DNC emails appeared on Wikileaks.

To this day, Julian Assange swears that they were LEAKED. The DNC claims they were hacked, in effect admitting to gross negligence/incompetence.

But WHY?

Today the DNC is nearly broke. Why would they admit to such gross negligence, and at such a cost?

The timing is highly suspicious. Trump takes the first lead in a national poll and three days later these DNC emails are dumped?

They know the late Seth Rich, a Bernie Sanders supporter, had downloaded those emails to a thumb drive and it's known that he'd been in contact with Wikileaks before the release of those emails, more than a month before his odd death, being shot and killed in "an apparent robbery," despite nothing being taken from him.

Donna Brazile, the interim DNC head, who'd wanted to replace Hillary Clinton with Joe Biden, dedicated her book ("Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns That Put Donald Trump in the White House" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073TWBKP4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_nAwIBbYJZAQ2W) in part to "the patriot Seth Rich," and Newsweek reported, "Rich appears elsewhere in Brazile’s book, as the Post reported earlier in the weekend. She wrote that Rich’s murder haunted her and that she'd installed surveillance cameras at her home and would keep the blinds in her office window closed so she could not be seen by snipers, according to the Post." Is it more likely that the DNC, in order to slime a political enemy (Trump), dumped/leaked their own emails as part of a larger strategy, OR that Gucifer 2.0, ultimately found to be a Romanian cab driver; "On June 21, 2016, in an interview with Vice, "Guccifer 2.0" stated that he is Romanian, which is the nationality of Marcel Lehel Lazer, a Romanian hacker who originally used the "Guccifer" pseudonym," hacked the DNC's emails, as both the DNC and our "Intelligence Community" assert and is, in fact, not a Romanian, but a Russian agent?

I'm far more prone to believe Assange over Brennan, Clapper, Comey , or Strzok, myself.
