Nigerian Student Proves Foes of Afirmative Action's Racial Preferences.....RIGHT!

Harold Ekeh

A Long Island high school student has been accepted into all 8 Ivy League Colleges and he's done it on MERIT. (http://nypost.com/…/meet-the-student-accepted-into-all-eig…/)
Elmont Memorial High School senior Harold Ekeh has a grade-point average of 100.5 percent, a whopping SAT score of 2270 and was a semifinalist for the national Intel Science Talent Search.

He is the second African immigrant to accomplish that feat, Kwasi Enin, 18, the son of Ghanaian immigrants from Mastic Beach, LI, achieved the Ivy League sweep last year. Kwasi Enin now attends Yale.

For years now, Nigerians have been seen as the most educated group in the U.S. As this 2008 article attests; http://www.chron.com/…/Data-show-Nigerians-the-most-educate…

And Harold Ekeh does not fit the mold of the "impoverished, struggling immigrant." In an interview, he said, “My parents left comfortable lives in Nigeria for their kids to have opportunities. So I take advantage of every single opportunity that has been afforded to me.”

Like other races, blacks in America are very bifurcated, with HUGE disparities between various groups. Today, African and Caribbean blacks comprise fully 1/3rd of blacks in America, even though the numbers of African-Americans has shrunk from just over 13% to 12% today....due mostly to the fact that the abortion rate for blacks in the U.S. is staggeringly high (over 35% of all abortions nationwide). In NYC nearly 70% of all black pregnancies end in abortion.

IF anything, the success of such immigrant groups proves that those paternalistic supporters of race-based preferences are woefully misguided at best, or motivated by a lingering and pernicious bigotry at worst.

Standards are NOT meant to measure all those who meet the MINIMUM standards and then allow the results to be chosen (at will) from among that HUGE pool. No, standards are RIGHTLY in place to reward excellence and punish mediocrity. Although not getting into the College of your choice or the job you may want is NOT exactly a "punishment" when it's your fault for not competing more effectively.

There's no question that someone with a 4.0 GPA is usually a BETTER candidate for post-graduate education than a candidate with a 3.6 GPA. BOTH are "qualified," however one is deemed "MORE qualified."

THAT's what standards exist for.

A Stunning Article in Which a "New Republic" Writer Admits the Left Doesn't Focus on FACTS!

Elizabeth Stoker Bruenig

In a bizarre article entitled, "Rolling Stone's Rape Article Failed Because it Used Right-wing Tactics to Make a Leftist Point," (http://www.newrepublic.com/…/rolling-stone-retracts-uva-rap…) Elizabeth Stoker Bruenig wrote, "The right, on the other hand, tends to understand politics on the individual level, which fits in neatly with a general obsession with the capital-i Individual. Thus, the right tends to pore over the specific details (FACTS) of high-profile cases like those of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, concluding that if those particular situations were embattled by complications or mitigating factors, then the phenomena they’re meant to represent must not be real either. And if a few highly publicized rapes turn out to be murkier than first represented, then rape itself is not a crisis, just a regrettable and rare anomaly."

In that one stunning statement, Ms Bruenig admits (1) that FACTS don't matter to Leftists, (2) that Liberals/Leftists revile individualism and (3) that the Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin shootings, like the UVA rape allegation were false narratives.

That's a pretty damned amazing admission!
What's more, she's RIGHT!

The Left NEVER has cared much about actual FACTS, just as it doesn't care much about the actual SCIENCE behind the causes they back...they merely cherry pick conclusions that support their own pre-conceived biases, then pretty much say, "We don't need to understand the "science," just accept it."

In short, when TRUTH, or the FACTS get in your way....simply ignore the facts.

The UVA rape allegation chronicled in Rolling Stone wasn't merely a false rape report, like the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, and the Duke LaCrosse rape hoax, it was a case of advocacy "journalism" run amok. The "narrative," in ALL cases must be backed up by the FACTS, or else it's, by definition, a false narrative.
What the REAL narrative of the Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown shootings was is, "We're outraged that young black males can't attack non-blacks with impunity."

THAT'S not a legitimate narrrative. Mike Brown physically attacked a cop whom the DoJ exonerated and was shot because he struggled over that cop's gun ("attempted murder of a police officer"), while all the prevailing evidence in the Trayvon Martin case points to the fact that he assaulted George Zimmerman, struggled over that guy's gun and was shot.

What's part tragic and part fortunate is that because of the Left's focus on such false narratives, some legitimate cases of abuse are overlooked.

I've pointed out at least 3 examples of "bad" police shootings, in the James Boyd shooting in New Mexico (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tpAZObNZfI), the John Crawford III shooting in an Ohio Walmart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqZ-teZsZmo) and the Levar Jones shooting in South Carolina (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij5gmuFAe_c).....it's almost as if the Left WANTS to lose these fights and is actually lobbying against the interests they claim to support.

I suppose NONE of those cases fit the Left's favored "narrative." James Boyd was WHITE, Levar Jones lived and in ALL 3 cases criminal charges have been leveled at police officers.

Unlike the Mike Brown shooting, for instance, where no charges were brought against Police Officer Darren Wilson for having the audacity to defend himself against a violent felon, who'd attempted to wrest his gun away and kill Officer Wilson...then shooting that poor, unarmed violent thug in the process.

Likewise, there ARE many legitimate cases of rape, but the false narrative of the UVA accuser muddies the water for such legitimate cases and brings into focus some very inconvenient FACTS for "rape culture theorists," like the FACT that rapes are down some 64% over the past decade and Campus rape is LESS common than rape in the general public (prison rape remains the MOST common by far). Even far-Left Mother Jones had to acknowledge it in a recent article titled, "Rape Is Way Down Over the Past Two Decades — But So Is All Violent Crime"

See that twist at the end...."But so is ALL Violent Crime." (http://www.motherjones.com/…/rape-way-down-over-past-two-de…) MJ tries to spin a net POSITIVE into a negative. That's called bullshit "advocacy journalism" and you can fail out of journalism school and STILL be able to engage in that!

Last Refuge has a GREAT article on the New Republic piece;http://theconservativetreehouse.com/…/moonbats-shout-why-d…/ Its well worth looking at.

Yet Another Example of Athletic Classiness

Frank (The Tank) Kaminsky   AND   Mo'ne Davis

A couple of weeks ago we lauded Mo'ne Davis exhibiting real class when she responded with classy forgiveness to a nasty tweet by a College baseball player (https://www.facebook.com/JMK444?ref=tn_tnmn).

In the wake of Wisconsin's stunning victory over Kentucky gaurd Andrew Harrison muttered under his breath in the post-game press conference, "F*ck that n*gger," in reference to Frank Kaminsky, whose 20 pts and 11 rebounds helped upset the previously unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats.

In the wake of that error, Andrew Harrison stepped up to take responsibility and apoligized to kaminsky and anyone who took offense to his "poor choice of words."
But Kaminsky showed the same kind of true class and forgiveness in immediately and graciously accepting Harrison's apology. http://www.courier-journal.com/…/harrison-apologi…/25324869/

People make mistakes....especially highly competitive athletes in the wake of high stakes wins and losses.

BUT we've ALL got to move past the pernicious double standards that still persist.

The public seems far more willing to accept Harrison's apology, far less so Joey Casselberry's. BOTH apologies should be accepted and BOTH verbal gaffes should be seen as mistakes made by over-heated young athletes, who's aggression that serves them so well on the fields and courts, sometimes hurts them in public forums.

NOW would be a good time to truly heed the lessons of Mo'ne Davis and Frank Kaminsky.

Double Standard in "Hate Crimes" Laws Unacceptable

~holder-obama-sharpton

THIS is why more and more people oppose "hate crime" laws. They are wholly misapplied and incompetently implemented. The issue is consitency. (http://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2015/04/02/update-police-say-vicious-beating-of-white-man-by-three-blacks-not-a-hate-crime-video/)

I favor ALL inter-racial crimes be designated "hate crimes" until proven otherwise.

BUT that's NOT what we have, NOR do we have the reverse, "ALL inter-racial crimes" being seen as NON-"hate crimes" until proven that they are. Which would ALSO be acceptable to me, so long as there were a single standard for that designation applied to all.

What we have today is the worst kind of hybrid....when blacks attack whites/Asians etc., the crime is assumed "NOT to be a hate crime," whereas whenever a white/Asian etc., attacks a black the crime is immediately assumed to be a "hate crime."

It's obviously time to scrap the existing system and start over.

Personally I favor punishing ALL violent crimes harshly regardless of motive. WHY should a black crime victim get less justice (the attacker given a shorter sentence) simply because that victim happened to be unfortunate enough to have been victimized by a black felon?

HOW does that inequity make ANY sense at all?

Ex-cop Suspected in Road Rage Incident

Anthony Corrales

According to Anthony Corrales, he was driving with his wife and 10-year-old daughter near Resorts World Casino in Ozone Park last June when he claims another motorist refused to allow him to change lanes.

OK, first off, no one has a right to "change lanes" and cut in front of another driver. The law is clear that we must "merge safely," which means leaving significant room (more than a car's length) between you and the car your merging in front of. A lot of selfish people today seem to think that turning on your turn indicateor gives you some non-existent "right-of-way." A "right-of-way" that they themselves are often reluctant to give.

The other driver, Robert Muller, turned out to be a retired cop, who also had his wife and child in his car, and wouldn't allow Mr. Corrales’ Acura sedan to cut in, causing Mr. Corrales to slam on his brakes.
“We almost crashed into him and the car behind me almost crashed into me,” Corrales told the Daily News.

OK, that seems to indicate that Mr. Corrales was NOT merging safely, lawfully or appropriately.

Corrales said he got out of his car at a red light to write down Muller’s license plate number — Muller later told police that Corrales followed him into the casino parking lot — and then it really escalated.
According to Mr. Corrales, “He (Mr. Muller) turned the wheels and I heard wheels screeching. He hit me with the car and took off with me on the car and he was going very fast."

The available video shows this, but NOT what led up to the "wild ride."

When he returned to the scene of the original confrontation, cops arrested Mr. Corrales for menacing, harassment and cracking Muller’s windshield.

Mr. Corrales’ suit contends that a casino surveillance video contradicted Muller’s account that he jumped on the car hood after stating, “Get out of the car tough guy.”

At this point, we don't have enough information to make an informed judgment on this. IF Mr. Corrales tried to cut in front of Mr. Muller, then got out of his car....to "get Muller's license plate #".... OR (perhaps more likely) to confront the guy who wouldn't let him cut into that lane?

Does it make sense that a driver would get out of his car to get the license plate # of a car that wouldn't let him cut in front of him? Improper lane changing IS a crime. Cutting in front of other cars DOES (rightly or wrongly...I think RIGHTLY) piss other drivers off.

So....IF Mr Corrales DID jump out of his car and seek to confront Mr. Muller, then the "road rage" seems to be primarily and predominantly on Mr. Corrales part. When you get out of your car to physically confront another driver, you run the very possible risk of being run over, or worse. Just as the other driver has no obligation to let you cut into another lane improperly, that driver doesn't have any obligation to give you a "fair fight" either.

It'd be intersting to see the entire video....even better would be a video of what occurred on the road leading up to this encounter.

IF Mr. Corrales tried to cut directly in front of Mr. Muller, then got out of his car, he was almost certainlygetting out of his car because he was angry and looking to confront the other driver. THAT sort of thing rarely ends well. If that's the case here, I really don't think Mr Corrales has much of a case for "false arrest."

The FAILURE of Multi-Culturalism....

~blackpower3

~blackpower

Sadly, it's events like THESE;

AND;

That leave ou wondering about the "value of diversity" and the efficacy of multi-culturalism.

Despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of ALL people are pretty decent, incidents like these....ESPECIALLY the guy attacked aboard a St Louis train while the others laughed and enjoyed the spectacle. No one even called police...force us to ask such questions.

Just saying....

What a WASTE!

Anthony Stokes

I don't know how many people saw this one, but it's a very sad story (sad as in pathetic)...about the utter waste of a transplant that could've been used for far better purposes.

Back in 2013, young Anthony Stokes was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, a terminal condition if he did not receive a heart transplant.

His became a public story because Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston informed his family he wouldn't be a candidate for transplant because of past criminal behavior:

According to the Hospital, “the decision was made that Anthony is currently not a transplant candidate due to having a history of non-compliance, which is one of our center’s contraindications to listing for heart transplant.”

“Non-compliance” is a euphemism for serious criminal misconduct.

The refusal of the hospital to place Stokes on the transplant list drew the ire of his family, who, quickly enlisted the aid of America's grievance industry and their friends in the media.

Anthony Stokes' mother (Melencia Hamilton) lamented, “They just don’t want to give him a chance,”
It worked.

Rather than face the ire of the professional grievance mongers, the hospital acquiesced and put young Mr. Stokes on the list.

Less than a week later he was given a heart transplant.

BUT that's where this story get's interesting...and kind of sad;

The Atlanta journal Constitution reported; "Stokes died after fleeing police following a carjacking and a burglary. An elderly Roswell woman told Channel 2 that Stokes shot at her after he kicked in her door and found her inside watching television.

"Stokes clipped a car in the intersection and then jumped the curb and hit a pedestrian before colliding with a SunTrust Bank sign, Holland said.

“He lost control and there was a long set of skid marks,” she said.

"Stokes died after rescue workers cut him out of [the] Honda, Holland said. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, but is expected to survive her injuries, police said."

What's sad is that the heart this miscreatn received could've been used to save another far more valuable member of society. That's called a "DYSGENIC EFFECT." Society is diminsihed because a dysfunctional person was saved at the expense of someone more productive.

The upshot is that at least Anthony Stoke's pathetic life of dysfunction and destruction is over, but it probably (by all rights) should've been over a couple of years back.
