“Dump Trump" Anti-Cons Are THE Problem with the GOP

Image result for Kendal Unruh

FREE Trade is NOT a “Conservative issue.” It was originally championed by the Clinton's BEFORE Gingrich & Co ever came to the scene.

Moreover, FREE Trade is ANTI-worker and PRO-Investor Class (the hated 1%), as such it's a classic "WIN-LOSE," as opposed to any kind of "WIN-WIN."

Traditional Conservatives have ALWAYS pushed for FAIR Trade...equal access, even when that hurts our trading partners and makes trade with such "developing nations" more difficult. Conservatives have also long opposed BOTH OUT-Sourcing (moving factories and call centers overseas) & IN-Sourcing (bringing cheap labor IN). The GOPe has never made ANY real, or compelling arguments against those bedrock Conservative principles before, so it’s a little too late to start now.

The sad truth is that "Free Trade"/Globalism's opportunities DON'T go to those put out of work by Out-Sourcing &In-Sourcing. They tend to go exclusively to the wealthy "Investor class."

The costs of retraining those displaced workers SHOULD BE borne by those opportunists both private sector investors & those within the political/media class that have benefited disproportionately and often illicitly from such questionable trade practices. Let those costs be taken out of those poorly distributed profits.
That's NOT "socialism," even though it's NOT Capitalism (Free Markets) either...we DON'T HAVE either anyway. What we have is Corporatism. This would merely be a more humane and decent form of Corporatism.

IF the “Dump Trump” movement, led by rogue delegates like Kendal Unruh is successful, it COULD work out for the best. IF they succeed it’s very possible that the Libertarian Party may replace the GOP as the 2nd largest vote getter in 2016. That would relegate the GOP to the status of the Whigs.

Perhaps that’s not such a bad prospect!

The GOPe’s REAL Dilemma

Image result for Donald Trump
Donald J. Trump

The problem isn't with the "Trumpsters," it's with the GOP itself.

I'm a lifelong, registered Democrat...a "Pat Buchanan Democrat," is how I put it, although now-a-days, I'm probably more of a "Pat Buchanan Independent." I've rarely voted for a Democrat for national office, BUT I STILL revile Country Club Republicans worse that ANY group around. I would've very possibly switched allegiances had that Party wisely sided with the right-thinking PJB over the fatally flawed Bushies back in 1992.

Like virtually ALL Conservatives I'm AGAINST In-Sourcing cheap labor, primarily because I'm a lifelong UNION worker and also because, while my side has early & often made arguments that pretty much go, "Well-paid, well-pensioned workers with good benefits packages do more to improve an economy than grossly overpaid CEOs and that higher wages do NOT put much of an upward pressure on overall business costs," while the other side (if it even really exists, outside a few Hedge Funders and Corporate CEOs), has NOT made ANY real arguments against that.

Like most Conservatives I'm also firmly AGAINST multi-culturalism, ESPECIALLY the inane idea that ALL people, ALL CULTURES are interchangeable. Along with that, of course, I'm strongly opposed to race/gender preferences, or "segregated standards."

On so many other issues (abortion, gay rights, etc) we can agree to disagree among ourselves, as they are mostly "side issues."

The GOP "establishment," or GOPe has NOT been aligned with right-thinking Americans on either of those main issues....and NOW, they must either change....or simply get out of the way.

The GOPe is right to fear Trump. What Trump represents is a hostile takeover of the original Corporatist Party in America. Corporatism was championed by patrician GOP haters of America's working class, like the incredibly overrated and cartoonishly mythologized Teddy Roosevelt. TR started the very FIRST Progressive (Corporatist) Party in America.

Corporatism IS "Progressivism."

Where do the calls for In-Sourcing (cheap labor) and Out-Sourcing factories and jobs come from? PRIMARILY, they come from our own MULTI-NATIONAL Corporate suites.

Likewise, where did the original and ONGOING calls for multi-culturalism come from? Yup, SAME suites! Like CitiBank's recent internal memo telling workers there that terms like "husband" and "wife" were no longer "appropriate" and MUST BE replaced with "non-judgmental" terms like "partner."

The enemies of Conservatism are NOT the unwashed and ineducable mutts in the OWS or BLM movements. Most of those folks are fur-bearing dolts. No, the REAL hardcore enemies of REAL Conservatism are in Corporate America, the Corporatists who own the media and control BOTH major political Parties.

The idea of "riots" should Trump NOT get the GOP nomination even having the most delegates by far is nonsense....working people don't "riot." What happens is all those votes....all those Dems (like me)
and others who've crossed over to vote FOR Trump, most of that 60% increase in "GOP voter turnout" simply....just goes away.

The GOPe are NOT the only ones who'd rather see a Hillary than a Bush, or "Lehman Brother" Kasich, or Rubio....I and most of those Trump voters would too.

WHY?

Because at least Democratic "Progressives" are honest and upfront about their support for In-Sourcing and multiculturalism...and HONESTY counts for a LOT. I disagree with, even revile those positions, BUT I KNOW that the GOPe holds those very SAME positions but dishonestly acts as if...they don't.

That's the reason Leftists could always get away with extra-Marital affairs and other underhanded things we wouldn't tolerate from Republicans and Conservatives....the Dems were HONEST and upfront about flaunting convention and NOT adhering to the rules those others swore to.

See how that works?

It's NOT a "double standard" IF you've embraced the standard and your opponents have not.

Here's the thing, the GOP as currently constituted CANNOT be saved.

Moreover, it SHOULDN'T BE saved, because it's NOT worth saving. We already have a Corporatist/Progressive Party in the Democrats, we DON'T need another. Besides the Democrats are actually better at selling that.

I've always thought that we Conservatives would have to find some way to re-takeover the Democratic party and bring it back to its original, Southern "Boll weevil" roots, BUT Trump has given the populist, REAL Conservatives a chance to steal the GOP from the effete, Progressive GOPe of Lindsay Graham, the Bush's the McCain's, the Hatch's, etc.

You know, perhaps it'd be GOOD if the GOPe screws Trump. It'd prove to everyone that BOTH major Parties work hand-in-glove to suppress the "will of the people." It may also very well drive those populist Tea Party Conservatives who've supported Trump may be forced to find common ground
with populists across the political spectrum (many of them ALSO oppose In-Sourcing and "segregated standards" when its put to them correctly) and maybe a new coalition, a ruling coalition could built from that!

The “Gang of Eight”

The "GANG of Eight"

It’s very hard for me to understand what “Establishment” Republicans “DON’T GET” about the anger of their own base.

I DO! I “get it,” perfectly.

Of course, I’ve ALWAYS said that, “The Republicans Party is a very poor vehicle for Conservatism,” at least the Conservatism of Southern whites and Northern ethnic Catholics, mostly pro-Union workers. I stand by that.

One of the BIG issues facing American workers over the past 40+ years has been IN-Sourcing – the importing of cheap migrant labor to do jobs that Americans WON’T do for less than $15/hour.

So, HOW did our “Republican Congress" respond to American worker’s demands for LESS In-Sourcing and MORE expenditures on education and re-training?

Yep, with the vaunted “Gang of Eight.” A gang tasked with pushing for and rationalizing even MORE In-Sourcing!

And what a “gang” it was, eight Corporatists, eight anti-American worker pseudo-elitists, eight socially liberal dipshits.

BOTH Parties have sold out their constituencies on this issue. Democrats KNOW that once Hispanics gain citizenship they (1) retain their devoutly religious stands and (2) begin to vote, as most ethnic Catholics do, more conservatively, while Republicans make no bones about their corporate shilling for cheap labor for their corporate masters.

In-Sourcing cheap labor hurts ALL U.S. workers by lowering the wage floor. Americans largely set up the 3rd World education systems that are now producing the engineers and physicians we employ with all those H-1B Visas, proving that they COULD DO the SAME THING right here at home...if they wanted to and if they wanted to pay American workers a decent wage!

The Senate’s vaunted “Gang of Eight” was an utterly bi-Partisan affair, albeit entirely Corporatist collective in its makeup.

The four Democrats were;

Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO
Sen. Richard Durbin, D-IL
Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY

Yes, four very Left-wing Democrats ALL apparently willing to welcome in a huge wave of ethnic Catholics virtually guaranteed to become regular Conservative voters once established here. Sure, both Schumer and Durbin envision a “permanent Hispanic underclass” mired on welfare and attached to the “Democratic Plantation” – NOT gonna happen...and being completely honest, they KNOW it!

As for the “Republicans.” Well, their resumes speak for themselves;

Sen. Jeff Flake, R-AZ – A guy about whom, Dave Weigel of Bloomberg Politics, once tweeted an ironic story with Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina calling Senator Flake the “RINO of the year.” Enough said!

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC – A certified liberal Democrat “dressed up” as a Republican.

Sen. John McCain, R-AZ – A “Born Again” Corporatist (the very worst kind) who reviles Conservatives of every stripe. A man who disgraced himself and his Party by running a veritable Vaudeville campaign back in 2008 during which he quipped the immortal line, “I don’t know much about the economy.” WHAT is he STILL doing on the Senate?! Oh yeah, same thing Lindsey Graham is, screwing over American workers.

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL – At least Rubio shills for ever more GOP support from this new wave of ethnic Catholics, nothing wrong with that EXCEPT that it ignores the economic bomb called In-Sourcing!

See?

THIS is the exactly what’s made the Conservative/Libertarian base of the GOP so angry with the Bush-Boehner-Graham-McCain wing of the GOP...and rightly so.

Trump Enunciates an Inconvenient Truth About Illegal Immigration...and NBC Shows its Corporatist Colors

Donald Trump

Donald Trump can be really tough to take. He’s pompous, bombastic and incessantly self-congratulatory, but he also often confirms a lot of inconvenient, even ugly truths, as he did in speaking about illegal immigration from Mexico recently; “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best...They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

All of that is (mostly) true, despite its clumsy, ham-handed wording. (http://variety.com/…/nbc-donald-trump-immigrants-1201530568/) An awful lot of drugs, as well as many criminals do cross that border every year. HOWEVER, the PRIMARY problem with illegal immigration from our southern border ISN’T the drugs and crime (although those ARE serious problems), BUT the migrant workers themselves.

To be sure, the vast majority of the illegal, migrant workers that cross our southern border are desperately poor people, looking to earn a little money to help fund a little better life. That's completely understandable, UNFORTUNATELY, that amounts to "In-Sourcing" - companies bringing in cheaper labor that undercuts American wage rates and lowers the wage floor across the U.S..

The Spanish language station Univision had previously canceled Trump’s “Miss USA” pageant. Mr. Trump, no fan of subtlety, subsequently sent Univision a strongly worded letter in response. Yahoo News reported, “Broadcast Company Univision announced Thursday it would not simulcast the pageant on its Spanish language channel, UniMas. Then Trump sent a letter to the company’s CEO on Friday, barring its employees from stepping onto his Miami golf course and country club, which are adjacent to Univision’s headquarters.

“Trump reportedly added a rather ominous P.S. to the typed letter:

“Please congratulate your Mexican government officials for having made such outstanding trade deals with the United States. However, inform them that should I become President, those days are over. We are bringing jobs back to the U.S. Also, a meaningful border will be immediately created, not the laughingstock that currently exists.” Trump wrote.” (http://news.yahoo.com/donald-trump-taking-toys-going-home-1…)

NBC, which had already severed ties with Trump due to his announced candidacy for POTUS, used those indelicately worded charges to sever all ties with Trump (allegedly) permanently, in issuing a statement; “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC Universal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump. At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values.”

That last line sounds great, but it is anything but, for with that stance, NBC merely amplified the Corporatist anti-working-class American viewpoint.

Again, illegal immigration amounts to “In-Sourcing” (bringing in cheaper labor to undercut American workers and lower the American wage floor). Big business LOVES that, because it LOVES cheap labor. Trump apparently DOES NOT like that, because the real estate market relies upon Americans being able to afford new homes. Cheap labor does not do much to help real estate developers.

There are TWO ways to directly attack American workers and by extension, the American middle class. The first is through “Out-Sourcing,” moving factories and businesses overseas where taxes and wage rates are much LOWER. The other is “In-Sourcing,” bringing the cheaper labor into this country. Of the two, In-Sourcing is much, MUCH, more cost effective (cheaper). BOTH are equally damaging to American workers.

THAT is the ONLY issue surrounding illegal immigration – “In-Sourcing.” And “In-Sourcing” harms all working Americans. There is no other issue, there is no other rationalization for illegal immigration.

It has ALWAYS been an “illegal employer problem,” NOT “an illegal worker/immigrant problem.”

On this issue, NBC stands squarely with the Corporate entities, of which it is one, and very much AGAINST working Americans.
