What Opponents DON’T Understand About “the Trump Phenomenon”

CNN's Fareed Zakaria

On this past Sunday's (5/29/16) show, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria asked the question made popular by a young Washington Post reporter, “Trump claims he wants to ‘Make America Great...AGAIN,’ so what period of time is he referring too?”

That inanity posits that Trump is referring to history, when, in fact, he’s referring to the size of the American bureaucracy. One could claim it’s the 80s that he's referring to, although Trump doesn’t say that, as the 80s were a period two decades past the most explosive growth in the American government, in the wake of the JFK assassination.

BUT the 80s were merely the last period when “smaller government” seemed to be in fashion, politically and philosophically. In actuality, it hasn’t REALLY been in effect since before FDR!

A far better critique of Donald Trump is that he’s been “short on specifics,” and Trump has often been "short on specifics" in a variety of areas.

However, the idea some people have that those who'd vote for Trump see him as some sort of "savior," is wrong.

Donald J. Trump started out as a much deserved "thumb in the eye" of the GOPe (who’d wantonly ignored their own base at their peril), but has become a thumb in the eye of the entire political establishment AND our corrupt, incompetent media.

Bernie Sanders is a nice, albeit naive old man, once thrown out of a Commune for "lack of work." Bernie Sanders is that nice guy, whom it’s often said about, “It's just too bad he's such a horse’s ass.”

STILL, "The kids" LOVE Bernie's message of "more and better free stuff." Most of those dopey kids will, of course, become Conservatives when they eventually start working and paying their own bills...and taxes.

Hillary Clinton is Jeb Bush, dualing Corporatists. Once Jeb and Rubio were out, all that Koch brother money went to...yup, Hillary. They know a bought & paid for career politician when they see one. Funny how the media doesn't have a problem with "the evil Koch brothers" when they're funding their guy...or gal.

Obama is the same, as well. I was actually worried that Barry Sotoero was going to be a daffy Bernie Sanders type at the start, nationalizing the banks, the auto industry, etc., but NOPE, he cozied right up to the billionaire bankers who run BOTH political Parties, the media and fund Academia. Smart move.

Turns out that what Barry, Hillary & Jeb all know that Sanders apparently doesn't, is that Corporatism WORKS, while the Command (government-run) economy DOESN’T.

Trump knows this too, but he also knows how corrupt and broken this entire political system really is AND he knows that if the tax system can be meaningfully reformed, to a Fair Tax, or Flat Tax, a major way pols reward BIG DONORS (via tax loopholes, etc.) will be gone.

A Trump COULD do far more to fix a broken system than anyone else running, short of the Libertarian nominee, but NONE of the other major candidates really want to fix the system...well, maybe Bernie, but he's unfortunately clueless.

That's why, right now, I'm probably voting for "the thumb in the eye," UNLESS somehow Libertarian candidate and former governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson, can persuade me that another LP vote won’t be a wasted one.

The anti-Free Speech Left ("Progressives") has been a gift from the political/media class and ironically enough, a boon to Trump. It’s a naive, misguided and dangerous movement and it’s been that for awhile now. The Black Lives Matter Movement is an outgrowth of that, which has also been promoted and financed by BIG Corporate donors and gleefully embraced by the political/media class, together they make for an effective bogey man for Trump to play off.

AND it’s not that hard to play off such movements, as they’re virtually entirely based on lies. For instance, in 2015 police in the USA killed 987 civilians, virtually all of them were attacking police (assailing a cop with your hands amounts to "attempted murder of a police officer" because you're assumed to be going for that cop's gun) at the time...50% of those killed by cops were WHITE, 26% were BLACK. As Heather Mac Donald has noted that violent crime rates would indicate that far more than 26% of those killed being black. 40% of all cop killers have been black, but the BLM movement has sought to make black thugs sympathetic. That serves the existing prevailing political agenda of further alienating various ethnic/racial groups and polarizing people along non-ideological/political lines.

One of the saddest things about our current political climate is that successful, hard-working blacks are often encouraged to see the travails of dysfunctional blacks as leverage for themselves. The black middle class gets “preferences” and other “set-asides” that everyone knows poor, dysfunctional blacks can’t take advantage of, so the poor suffer, so that the more well off, get even more freebies. That's sad.

Fact is, little IS, or even CAN be done to save dysfunctional people, black, white, or other from THEMSELVES.

Mike Brown and Eric Garner were dysfunctional people. Decent blacks have no more in common with them, than I do with Jeffrey Dahmer and Bill Ayers.

Unfortunately, emotion often overrides reason. That's what our corrupt political/media class relies upon.

A Not so Funny Story...

Feeling the Bern?

Turns out that America's favorite "socialist," got kicked out of a "socialist"commune for refusing to work. (http://dailycaller.com/2016/04/19/bernie-sanders-once-kicked-out-of-a-hippie-commune-for-not-working/)

Yup, that's Bernie Sanders....slacker.

“Endless political discussion,” and a distaste for actual work allegedly resulted in Sanders being asked to leave the commune," according to Kate Daloz, author of, We Are as Gods.

EVERYONE who claims to believe in "socialism," sees themselves as part of the "philosopher class," that pontificates on social theory all day, occasionally visiting the "happy peasants" doing all the actual labor. That's what Bernie thinks "socialism" is and that's what these dopes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEvWDwZYvk8) think it is too!

Dolts like Sanders are THE reason so many slackers think "socialism" is  for them! Imagine, a delightful utopia in which, "No one HAS TO work UNLESS they really WANT TO." The fatal flaw in that demented idea is found in the obvious question..."Then WHO would WANT TO?" Of course, slackers never get that far. Which is WHY they're SLACKERS in the first place!

In REALITY socialism comes down to a giant work camp in which 99% of the people are peasants, living miserable lives, slaving away for the "good of the state," while the 1%...the SAME 1% who are reviled now, run everything.

That 1% isn't just rich, they have the connections too.

So for all those dopey dreamers who see themselves as some sort of philosopher, or perhaps a supervisor....guess again. Those spots are already taken. YOU will be working in a mine, or on a farm somewhere. THAT'S what "socialism (the absence of private property & profit) comes down to.

Sounds About Right...

It is! Fact is, it's rigged on BOTH sides.

If there had been any way for the GOPe to have bounced Trump...they would have. They tried everything...EXCEPT "Super Delegates."

The Republican base has been outraged at 10 years or more of GOPe calumny which peaked with Boehner's & McConnell's stifling the authentic voice of that base - The Tea Party.

In today's Washington Post, crazy old Ruthie (Ruth Marcus) daydreams about a Mitt Romney 3rd party run, the way Trump dreams of a Bernie Sanders 3rd Party campaign. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2016/05/23/is-it-time-to-ask-romney-to-run/?wpmm=1&wpisrc=nl_popns)

Neither is likely to happen.

Just as sure as the Democrats won't let Bernie run a 3rd party campaign...the one Trump is exhorting him to run, the GOP won't allow Romney or anyone else to run independently and split the...so-called "Republican vote." It's NOT their vote any more. The people have taken it back.

For better and for worse, we're stuck with Hillary vs Trump.

Donald Trump is a thumb in the eye of the GOPe! They brought Trump on themselves, just as post-Hillary, the Democrats will bring their own outsider-upstart on themselves. Bernie ISN'T it!

A large swath of the American people are as sick of the corporately run Uni-Party political system ("Choose between your approved managers") as they are of this corporately owned and controlled media. It's the reason that today, just 6% of Americans have a "lot of confidence" in the media. (http://bigstory.ap.org/article/35c595900e0a4ffd99fbdc48a336a6d8/poll-vast-majority-americans-dont-trust-news-media)

This is as peaceful an attempt by the people to change the established operating system as we're going to get.

What We’ve Learned During the 2015 – 2016 Primary Season

Image result for Trump and Sanders
Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders

Despite all the turmoil and controversy, the 2015 – 2016 political Primary Season has exposed a lot of previously hidden things about the American political process, that maybe we weren’t supposed to know.

For THAT alone, BOTH Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have done the nation a great favor. How we deal with that favor will say a LOT about us and about America as a nation, as it now exists.

If anything, the “establishment” attacks, especially on Donald Trump have proven that BOTH political Parties exist as “professional managers” for a global conglomerate of multi-national Corporations and International bankers.

As far back as 1933, FDR, in a letter to Colonel Edward House, wrote, “The real truth is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers (foreign banks) has owned the government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson.”

So, this is nothing new, but it has become much more clear to far more Americans with this Primary Season.

The 2015 – 016 Primary Season has also been a pretty good gauge of voter anger. Trump, more than anything else, has represented a thumb in the eye of the GOPe, a political establishment that has proven itself to be far more nefarious than the incompetents in the Democratic Party.

Bernie Sanders has been much the same to a rigged (via “Super Delegates”) Democratic Party.

It has also exposed many in the national media, especially those who make their livings with Commentary pieces that are SUPPOSED TO sway public opinion (such as George Will, Chris Matthews, Charles Krauthammer, etc.) – as ineffectual dolts.

The Media, while laughing, early on, at “the GOP’s dilemma,” the overwhelmingly Leftist American media, seamlessly moved into attack mode when called upon, as if on cue.

How corrupt is America’s national media?

Consider that Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communication for U.S. President Barack Obama and one of the architects of the fatally flawed Iran Deal, as well as the now infamous “Benghazi Talking Points,” and once an aide to New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is the brother of David Rhoades, the current president of CBS News.

Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a special advisor to Barack Obama is the sister of the president of ABC News, Ben Sherwood.

Tom Nides, a Deputy Secretary of State under Barack Obama is husband to Virginia Moseley is a CNN Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief

Such relations show why our Corporately owned news outlets not only favor Leftist Dems, they have familial bonds that guide media policy to synch with the political policies such pseudo-elites favor.

Seriously, what could’ve been funnier than the sitting President Barry Soetoro (that’s the name he used as an “exchange student” at Occidental College and when applying for the Illinois Bar) assailing Donald Trump’s “Lack of foreign policy credentials,” when President Obama had NONE of his own before taking office and has, to this day, kept his College grades hidden...enough said, there’s ONLY one reason anyone would do that.

We know that G W Bush was a “Gentleman’s C,” that Al Gore failed out of Divinity School (NOT Law or Med School, but F*#king Divinity School), so what could be more distressing than that?

The fact is that Corporatism works, whereas Socialism’s “Command (government-run) Economy” CAN’T. While Corporatism isn’t as dynamic and prosperous as the free market, it is also less unstable.

BUT one of the key aspects of Corporatism (the partnership between business and government) is that business MUST ALWAYS be the Senior Partner.

WHY?

Consider the following names; Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Jack Welch, Steve Jobs and Joe Biden, Al Gore, John Boehner, George W. Bush, Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell.

The difference is NOT merely about 40 IQ points in favor of the group in business, but there’s a certain acumen that the former group seems to possess that the latter one does not.

I couldn’t imagine the political group successfully running a lemonade stand.

Seriously!

While the first group would be solely focused on making a profit, sacrificing everything else for that, the political group would almost certainly put comfort...their comfort (“I’d rather locate our stand near that lake 3 miles off the highway, for the better views”) ahead of virtually everything else. I’d doubt they’d even take all the related costs into account. “The lemonade mix costs us 20 cents a pack and each pack makes 8 eight-ounce glasses, so we can sell our lemonade at 5 cents per glass.”

The business group would no doubt locate their stand on a major exit from the highway, and take into account things like the cost of bottled water, the ice used, the cost of the cups, etc.

The political group would be filing for a bailout before the end of the first day!

Moreover, elections aren’t won with votes, they’re won with MONEY. Money buys image and IMAGE generates votes!

No money source, no vote source.

Those who supply the money to the system, OWN that system and thereby own those who work within that system. Politicians are merely MANAGERS for their moneyed, Corporate masters.

The problem we face today is that these global Corporate heads see the existing cultures, heritages and races as superfluous and “in the way.” They are “in the way” of them having a smooth, homogeneous global consumer class.

That’s a problem because it runs in conflict with the nature of us...humans.

The question now is, “Can we UNRIG an already rigged system, one that’s been rigged for a very, VERY (according to FDR) long time?”

The 2015 - 2016 Primary Season has given a clearer picture of our ugly and corrupt political system and what's behind it. Now we've all got to figure out what can be done about that.

Some Basic Observations, August, 2015

Image result for Bernie Sanders and BLM
Bernie Sanders Confronted by (Hillary paid for?) BLM "Activists"

(*) Hillary vs. Sanders: While I can’t prove it (yet), I firmly believe that Hillary Clinton’s campaign has been paying BLM (Black Lives matter) “activists” to attack and try to silence the Bernie Sanders campaign. It’s “The Clinton way.”

(*) Trumping Conservatives: To the charge that “Donald Trump’s NOT a Conservative,” that misses the point! Trump is the ultimate “No confidence” vote, a platinum plated “No” vote, as in, “NO to the political/media class.” Moreover, just WHAT, exactly, have all these bona fide “Conservatives” done for Conservatism? Even with BOTH Houses of Congress and the Presidency (under G W Bush) we DID NOT anything like a Conservative surge.

(*) Trust Lost is NEVER Gotten Back: With its overt sandbagging of Donald Trump, FNC proved that it’s as much a part of the corporate media as ABC, CBS, CNN and NBCSorry Roger, once lost, that trust FNC had with many Conservatives has been unalterably broken.

Many Conservatives, including the likes of Mychal Massie and Mike Savage have long acknowledged that "Fox News is no less Corporatist than any of the other media outlets." They're right!

(*) Tough Times for Mayor BeBlasio: With the grade fixing scandal and the apparent “fudged” investigation (lead investigators have worked under Carly Fiorina), the amateur response to the Legionnaires outbreak in the Bronx, on the heels of an ill-conceived war against Uber, it’s fair to ask, “Can this Mayor do ANYTHING right?”

A LOT of this comes down to timing. Donald Trump assails the criminal aspects of illegal immigration (it’s actually a VERY SERIOUS economic issue – IN-SOURCING) and suddenly, as if on cue, a spate of serious crimes by illegal immigrants makes Trump look prescient. By comparison, Bill DeBlasio assails Uber and is flooded with complaints from workers and the riding public that back him off, in a disorganized retreat, then gets blind-sided by an apparent citywide grade-fixing scandal and an outbreak of Legionnaires disease in the Bronx.

The optics tell the story. One guy looks prescient, the other guy confused and disorganized. THAT’S a problem for any elected official.
