Talk about spooky coincidences, 13 years to the day (October 3rd, 1995) after he was acquitted of the murders of Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ron Goldman, a Las Vegas jury convicted OJ Simpson of all twelve counts, involving OJ Simpson and friends attempt to get back some memoribilia - the most serious charge, kidnapping with a firearm, could keep him in prison for at least fifteen years with the minimum sentencing.
That would keep the 61 y/o Simpson in prison until his mid-70s at the minimum. Of course the case will be appealed.
Oddly enough, the current charges stem from an evasion of the subsequent Civil judgment won by Fred Goldman (Ron Goldman's father) in the wake of the earlier acquittal.
OJ Simpson stashed some valuable memorabilia with two memorabilia dealers in order to avoid having to sell the items to satisfy the judgment won by Fred Goldman.
Witnesses said the men stormed into room 1203 of the hotel and took thousands of dollars' worth of collectibles from dealers Bruce Fromong and Alfred Beardsley at gunpoint. Defense lawyers argued that Simpson went to the hotel only to retrieve personal mementos that were stolen from him following his murder trial and was unaware that two of his sidekicks were armed.
