Could this be prophetic?...

.
SNL did this great “Road to the White House” spoof on Senator Biden's and Rep. Murtha’s latest gaffes. Ironically enough, the two major gaffes here, may have already had consequences that are only beginning to show up in the polls.

The video is at: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/road-to-the-white-house/787141/?dst=nbcwidgetNBC%20Video&__source=nbcwidgetNBC%20Video it's worth a look, if you haven't seen it - VERY funny.

Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin reports;

Breaking: New poll shows Russell over Murtha, 48-35

A Pennsylvania source has just leaked me brand spanking new poll data showing GOP upstart Bill Russell leading John Murtha among over 800 probable voters by 48-35.

This comes on top of the Susquehanna poll showing Murtha ahead of Russell by 4 points, within the margin of error.

The new poll is from Dane and Associates, which surveyed over 800 probable voters, randomly selected to reflect the district makeup, on Wednesday night.

The new poll shows that 381 of the 800 (47.6%) respondents favor Russell, while 279 (34.8%) support Murtha, with 141 (17.6%) undecided.

AND according to Rasmussen:

In Pennsylvania, John McCain has pulled back within single digits of Barack Obama.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state shows Obama with 53% of the vote while McCain picks up 46%. That seven-point margin is half the 13-point advantage Obama enjoyed early in October.

Not coincidentally, Obama’s current lead is matched by a seven-point advantage on the question of which candidate is trusted more on the economy.

However, while McCain has closed the gap, virtually all the movement comes from an increase in his support rather than a loss of support for Obama.

So, is it possible that Murtha’s happily calling his constituents “racists” and “rednecks” is going to cost him his seat to a Marine, Iraqi vet, William Russell and, in the process, swing the tightening PA contest to McCain?

We can only hope.....We’ll see soon enough.

Say It AIN’T So...Joe!

In one of the more stunning verbal gaffes in recent memory, Joe Biden, while talking with Katie Couric somberly intones, “One of the things a leader has to do is show the people he knows what he’s talking about, so he calm their fears...when the stock market crashed FDR went on television to calm the people...”

Yikes!

Apparently Joe Biden isn’t “smarter than a fifth grader!”

For one thing, TV wasn’t around back in 1929...and for another, FDR wasn’t President when the stock market crashed, Herbert Hoover was.

In fact, the stock market crash helped get FDR elected!

Kinda makes you wonder whether all those crazy emails going around suggesting “the fix is in,” that Biden will somehow, for some reason bow out of the race in early October to make way for Obama to re-do his VP pick and “get it right this time,” are really all that crazy!

Joe Already OVERRATES Himself...

The other day, Joe Biden, commenting on his upcoming debates with Sarah Palin, announced that he’d assume that Sarah Palin is, "as smart as I am, as tough as I am, and knows as much as I do."

Mmmmmmm, bad assumption Joe – I think it's a safe bet that she’s BOTH smarter AND tougher.

Why didn’t he just say, “I look forward to debating her very badly,”?

At least that way, he wouldn’t have been overrating himself.

Is Joe Biden Barack Obama’s “Rosa Parks”?

It sure seems so, considering that when Senator Biden took liberties with a speech form Neil Kinnoch (the British Labor Party leader, who had no problems with Biden’s “borrowing some phrases”) he was promptly bounced for the 1992 Presidential race over charges of plagiarism. No matter that Mr. Kinnoch had no problems with Mr. Biden’s borrowing those thoughts, he was out of the race after violating a public trust.

The other day, in Wisconsin, Barack Obama lifted the exact speech given a couple years earlier by Massachusetts Governor Duval Patrick and apparently (thanks to Joe Biden’s pioneering efforts) such plagiarism is no longer any big deal at all! In fact, partisan Obama supporters are now busily trying to redefine "plagiarism" as "taking words without permission," instead of the actual definition, "without the due acknowledgment."

WoW! We really have come a long way! Today, a middle aged white guy, like Joe Biden can be a civil rights pioneer for young black men like Barack Obama!

In a sense, Joe Biden is now the “Rosa Parks” of political plagiarists.

Joe Biden’s “Macaca” Moment?

Joe Biden may have euthanized his 2008 White House run on its very first day, which, if it happens, will save Biden’s campaign a lot of man-hours and money, since his chances are razor thin to begin with.

Biden began his ’08 Presidential run with a blistering critique of John Edwards and Hillary Clinton, but then, like the politically correct Liberal that he is, he offered praise to the first serious black Democrat in the field.

Sadly it’s his “compliment” that got him into trouble. Calling Barack Obama, "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, a real fairytale man."

Yes. The offending word was “clean.”

Political gazers initially figured he meant “clean-cut,” or clean as in corruption free (compared to the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton), but on the Daily Show, he told John Stewart that he meant “fresh,” as in new, claiming, “I should have said fresh. What I meant was that he's got new ideas, he's a new guy on the block..."

THAT as much as anything spells doom for Biden. Hell, he can’t even cover up a relatively minor gaffe like that.

“Clean-cut,” as in mainstream and conventional, which Obama has projected himself to be - that was your bail out Joe, “clean” to “clean-cut.”

“Clean” to “fresh” is more of a stretch.

Hmmmm, for an experienced plagiarist, he sure isn't very good at manipulating words very well.

See ya Joe.
