Ryan Leaf's "Letter to My Younger Self" Shows Why Going On is ALWAYS BEST...

Ryan Leaf came out of College rated above Peyton Manning in many scout's eyes.

He didn't make it in the NFL, largely because of immaturity and his "inability to play well with others."
In short order, he found himself out of the NFL, labeled a "Bust"...a failure.

He then became addicted to painkillers and found himself arrested and convicted on burglary charges over stealing drugs from a neighbor's home. He'd even attempted suicide.

He has since turned his life around and shares his travails with others, hoping to help others learn from his mistakes.

His is a fascinating, albeit a sad story. (https://www.theplayerstribune.com/…/ryan-leaf-nfl-letter-to…)

The Future of Firefighting is Robotic...and It's Coming Fast

SAFFIR The U.S. Navy's Firefighting Robot
.
.
One of the things the fire in Notre Dame Cathedral introduced the world to was the future of firefighting, as the robotic firefighter, Colossus was used for the interior fire suppression inside the historic structure. (https://www.standard.co.uk/…/revealed-how-french-firefighte…)

Some think such machines are new.

They're not.

The U.S. Navy is already using robotics for shipboard firefighting. Fires onboard ships offer one of the most dangerous and inhospitable IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life & Health) environments firefighters can face.

Instead of staircases, the holds of ships often have 30' to 50' straight ladders between levels.

When there are fires in the lower levels, the heat is extreme and the air is very limited.

If robot tech can master that environment, they can master ANY fireground.

Eventually, robotics, like the Saffir robot being used by the U.S. Navy (https://youtu.be/V9lBxT0jLEo) will be used exclusively in fire suppression and rescue.

Robotic firefighters aren't exclusive to France and the U.S. Navy, China, the UAE, the Netherlands among many other nations are engaged in this pursuit, as robots and drones offer more efficient and cost effective approaches to firefighting.

As A.I. (Artificial intelligence) improves, so will such robotic devices and cities will save a TON. Robots don't get injured, or sick. They need neither pensions, nor medical benefits...just a bit of routine maintenance.

The days of humans engaging in aggressive interior attack will soon be over. Human firefighters will soon (almost certainly within 10 to 15 years) go the way of human Bank tellers, replaced by ATM's, human cashiers, replaced by Self Checkouts and human ditch diggers, replaced by heavy equipment.

The last of the "aggressive, interior attack" human firefighters are passing from the scene. There'll come a time when people won't believe humans ever went into fires, just as a new generation can't imagine pay phone booths and a world without cell phones.

The only thing those who care can do is...invest in companies involved in robotics, like COGNEX, NICE Ltd., Rockwell Automation and ROBO Global.

There is no stopping the March of technology.

A WEIRD "CASH for KIDS" Meme...Gets it All WRONG

Judge Mark A. Ciavarella Jr.
.
.
A new meme about an old (2011) case (the PA "Cash for Kids" scandal) suggests that horrific abuse of the Justice system was about "selling black teens to prisons." THAT part, the racial angle, is WRONG. The majority of those victimized were white...and most were jailed on minor offenses, that usually resulted in no detention at all.

Hillary Transue, convicted and jailed after creating a fake, humorous Myspace page about her school’s vice principal at age 14, Justin Bodnar, 12, who'd cursed at another student’s mother and Ed Kenzakoski, 17, who actually did nothing at all, but was jailed despite his innocence, where all white, as were most of the other victims were. (https://nypost.com/…/film-details-teens-struggles-in-state…/)

The NPR headline here (https://www.npr.org/…/pa-judge-sentenced-to-28-years-in-mas…) used in the meme reflects the misleading reporting on this case. It WASN'T about "selling black teens to prisons," as the majority of the victims were white...BUT apparently that doesn't garner much sympathy these days.

Judge Mark A. Ciavarella was a judge in Luzerne County, PA, a county, which as of the 2010 census, the county was 90.7% White, just 3.4% Black or African American, 0.2% Native American, 1.0% Asian, 3.3% other race, and 1.5% were of two or more races. 6.7% of the population were of Hispanic or Latino ancestry.

So, WHY does the media continue to misreport on incidents like this?

Well, it ISN'T an accident...

Hillary's Strange Response to The New Zealand/Sri Lanka Tragedies...

.
.
After the New Zealand Mosque attack that claimed 29 lives, Hillary Clinton expressed sympathy for the “global Muslim community” and wished for an end to “racism" & “Islamophobia," as well as for the universal condemnation of white supremacy.

In response to the Muslim attack on Christians attending Easter service in Sri Lanka, that took over 200 lives, she expressed no specific sympathy for the global Christian community, nor an end to Muslim supremacy, nor an end to the ongoing war against Western civilization, let alone calling for the universal condemnation of "Islamic terrorism."

Hillary Clinton DIDN’T treat the two incidents the SAME, although given the magnitudes of the two events (29 dead in New Zealand & over 200 dead in Sri Lanka), she probably SHOULD'VE been more excised over the Sri Lankan incident, BUT instead, she was clearly more outraged over the New Zealand incident, almost certainly because it fit the vile Anglo-American Globalist/One Worlder agenda that our political-media class continues to support.

Yet Another Abuse of Authority...

.

.

I am NOT a supporter of the ongoing "war on police," but I do recognize that there are bad cops, like bad there are bad carpenters, accountants, doctors, teachers, firefighters and members of every other profession. There are also people in all professions who just have "bad days," here and there.

In the case of Police Officers, any bad decision can negatively impact, even ruin lives.

Without question, Police MUST ALWAYS defend themselves against anyone who'd confront or attack a Cop. Failure is never an option for Police in such instances, but the abuse of authority is always unacceptable.

Here, a Cop arrests a retired firefighter after the retired FF just saved a woman's life, after she had a major car wreck.

The Cop here, claims to have been an EMT, but according to witnesses, did nothing to assist the victim.
THAT should be a violation of procedure ANYWHERE.

While I DON'T like the narrator's over-the-top delivery, which makes the problem seem epidemic, when it's actually pretty rare, there certainly ARE such abuses. They ARE relatively rare and they're generally NOT racially motivated.

This one SHOULD result in a Civil lawsuit against the Cop, the Prosecutor, who originally filed charges against the good Samaritan and the Municipality.

The Whitehaven Raid - When the United States invaded England

.

.

On THIS Day (April 23rd, 1778) in 1778, John Paul Jones INVADED England with his Whitehaven Raid.

John Paul Jones took a single ship, the Sloop of War USS Ranger into the port at Whitehaven, in Northern England with plans of taking that port under cover of darkness and burning the British ships in port.

The raid wasn't entirely successful, as they were only able to set one ship ablaze, but they were able to successfully escape the port in tact. He'd later say that had they been able to land in port just two hours earlier they could've sunk every ship in Whitehaven.

After that, Captain Jones sailed north to Scotland in an attempt to kidnap the Earl of Selkirk, in hopes of making a prisoner exchange, but the Earl, fortunately for him, wasn't home at the time.

Undeterred, Jones sailed on towards Ireland where he took on and captured a British warship, the HMS Drake in British waters, which was a major coup.

Today, we should remember the boldness of John Paul Jones whose Whitehaven Raid, emboldened the American rebels at home, by taking the American Revolution to the shores of England.

THIS is Why Nationalism is Vital - The HU - Wolf Totem

The many disparate and distinct cultures of humanity each perceive the world very differently and in the process make the world a better place.

The Anglo-American Globalism/One Worldism pushed by America's political-media class would seek to pave over these vital differences and transform humanity into a bland homogeneous monolith.

Globalism/One Worldism is a mistake. In essence it's a form of Neo-Colonialism. It's a very bad, ill-conceived idea.

We SHOULD be able to just admit that mistake and move on.
