Amber Guyger, the Dallas cop, who entered the wrong apartment and killed the legal resident was convicted of 2nd degree murder and today she was sentenced...but to only 10 years! (https://nypost.com/…/ex-dallas-cop-amber-guyger-sentenced…/…)

How does this happen?

Especially, how does this happen in Texas?

Amber Guyger was already in the commission of a crime (trespassing) when she shot Botham Jean.

It's inconceivable that she didn't know she was in the wrong apartment.

The guy was not a threat while on the couch.

She should've known she was in the wrong apartment. She should've spoken first, looked around and realized HER mistake before going to the gun.

Her judgment was criminal.

Non premeditated murder is 2nd degree murder. That seems appropriate here. So does 25 to life, NOT 10 years.
