Elijah Cummings and the State of America's Polarization

Earlier someone posted a wish that Rep. Cummings had a painful death. It's just more proof of how vehemently polarized we are politically, as if more proof of that were needed.

I think some of the vitriol comes from so many regular, working people feeling that this political-media class, not only pays no attention, but is hopelessly out of touch with them.

Those sentiments (wishing Rep. Cummings a painful death), however, are NOT my sentiments, at all. While I didn't agree with Elijah Cummings very much, I didn't hate him, either.

In fact I'd earlier posted the link to the time when Rashida Tlaib called Republican Mark Meadows a racist and Elijah Cummings came to the defense of Rep. Meadows, a white, male, Republican and admonished Tlaib.

For his part, the very Conservative Mark Meadows remains crushed over Cummings' death (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/…/no-better-friend-mark-…)

Despite my disagreements with his views, I've considered Cummings a man of principle. The same can't be said of a lot of career politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle, or many of us, as people.

Far too many of us see "right," as only that which benefits us and that's not principled, it's selfish and it can often be dangerous.

We are a deeply polarized nation today and that's what this media wants...because that's what their multinational conglomerate and international banker owners want.

We each have to come to accept that disagreement ISN'T hate, or we wind up like those in Antifa fools, drenched in endless, mindless hatred.
