Funny story, my father's family came over from Ireland right before the American Civil War and were thrust right into that fight, which (1) preserved the Union...and this country and, as a happy byproduct, (2) wound up eradicating chattel slavery forever in America.

Apparently, my Dad's side of the family were poor Irish, "Beto's," apparently were the other ("lace curtain") kind.

Here's a clue. One reason I'd NEVER vote for "Beto" even for dog catcher is, he's got no self respect...no respect for his own culture and heritage. His nickname of choice shows that he can't run away fast enough from his Celtic roots.
