Susan Boyle - SHOCKS the World on Britain's Got Talent 2009...

This is just an amazing tale of triumph. Susan Boyle shocks Simon Cowell, the audience at "Britain's Got Talent" and the world. It's an astounding story really - a 47 y/o, unemployed woman from a small Scottish town, who claims to have "never been kissed" stuns everyone with a voice described as "forged in heaven."

AMAZING!

She was extraordinary! She is the personification of never judge a book by its cover!

I agree 100%!

It really was a triumph of talent over all. Indeed, every voice mocked her before she began to sing (how hard is it to face that and come off so flawlessly?) and within a few seconds, won them all over.

I don't know why I mlinked to this EXCEPT that it seems to epitomize something we all claim to believe in - the triumph of talent and character above all and against all odds.

I'd never seen that show, nor am I much of a music afficionado, but I came away not only with a profound respect for the feat Susan Boyle pulled off, but for the judges (including Cowell, who immediately signed her to a recording contract) and the audience for being able to be won over and ultimately shamed at their initial behavior.

It really is an amazing event to witness that kind of transformation and forced self-reflection....we all need some of that from time to time.
