Ever Wonder WHY There's a Dark/Far Side of the Moon?

It shouldn't be, right?

The Moon does revolve around the earth and doesn't it rotate/spin like all the other planets and moons out there?

Then you'd think there'd be times when each side of the moon is visible from earth.

Sometimes I wonder about things like this. If you do, I looked it up. The reason there's a dark side of the moon is that tidal forces from earth have slowed down the moon's rotation to where it's nearly fixed; "Tidal forces from Earth have slowed down the Moon's rotation to the point where the same side is always facing the Earth — a phenomenon called tidal locking. The other face, most of which is never visible from the Earth, is therefore called the "far side of the Moon" (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_side_of_the_Moon…)

Weird huh...
