We often act as though chattel slavery was historical event, when in FACT, Western Europe and the United States were not only among the first nations on earth to eradicate chattel slavery within their borders, but among the ONLY nations ever to do so...even up through TODAY!

Chattel slavery STILL exists throughout the Muslim Mideast, across sub-Saharan Africa and in large tracts of Asia.

Sadly, it is far from dead and consigned to history.
