After watching it, I'm now 100% in favor of mandated contraception for ALL the dependent poor, from Appalachia to the South Bronx. OK, truth be told, I was before too.
Look, through no fault of their own, these "kids" are doomed." They're doomed by an anti-productive ethos that is ingrained in the various dependency cultures around the U.S.
Worse yet, there's absolutely no way to "fix this." So-called "interdiction" (taking children out of dysfunctional homes) always comes too late, probably because even 5 or 6 y/o is "too late."
Often the only real "solutions" to the problems we face, are just not very appealing. THAT'S when it takes guts to make the right decision.
