Heck of a JOB Gina!

Remember G W Bush's famous; "Heck of a job, Brownie" remark to then FEMA head Michael D. Brown after FEMA responded so ineffectively after Hurricane Katrina?

Well, the current head of the EPA (Gina McCarthy) may very well have outdone good old Brownie!

A few days ago, the EPA "accidentally" spilled over 1 MILLION gallons of a mustard colored sludge into a tributary of the Colorado River (the Animas River, near Durango, CO.). Admittedly, the sludge contains heavy metals including lead and arsenic, but according to EPA officials it's STILL "too early to tell" if it the sludge is actually toxic and poses a health risk to people in the area...YES, even after going on 4 days.

"There's not a lot we can do," San Juan County Emergency Management Director Don Cooper said. "We can keep people away (from the river) and keep testing. We still don't know how bad it is,"

Yup, "Heck of a job Gina!"

STILL, this new approach to government work might prove to be PURE GENIUS! After all, WHY limit yourself to responding to organic disasters, when you can go out and create your own and then simply respond to those?

I foresee other federal (and perhaps even local) agencies following suit.

Heck of a job, Gina!
