84 y/o Long Island Attorney Pleads Guilty in Disability Fraud

THIS is the kind of abuse that fuels legitimate resentment against public pensions. People don't mind helping those who are truly disabled, but they revile "scammers" even more.

Raymond Lavallee, 84, a Long Island lawyer who represented numerous NYC cops and firefighters, coaching them on how to make false disability claims (mostly PTSD claims have been prosecuted so far) to game the system and get fraudulent benefits will get a year behind bars and will have to pay $2 million in restitution.

For the SAME reason that false alarms cost lives, such scams threaten the benefits of those who are truly deserving.
