“Black Lives ALREADY Matter”...At Least MORE Than White Ones!

Among the more inane slogans that have come out of the latest CNN-engineered race controversies over the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, call it, “The Revenge of Soledad O’Brien,” has been “Black Lives Matter.”

Consistent with CNN’s generally piss-poor level of research, the ONLY thing wrong with that slogan is...that it’s a LIE. Looking at the way recent black police shooting victims have been treated relative to white victims, black lives matter much more than white ones.

What too many of us apparently don’t understand…and to our own detriment...is that merely walking away from a cop who has stopped us, or backing away and saying, “I didn't do anything” IS “resisting arrest.” Putting one’s hands on a cop is felony “assaulting a police officer.”

In the Ferguson incident, the Grand Jury came to the apparently obvious conclusion that Officer Darren Wilson shot Mike Brown in self-defense, after Brown attacked the Officer (felony assault), wrestled for Wilson’s gun (attempted murder) and that Brown was fatally shot by Wilson after he charged the Officer a second time.

ONLY CNN was “surprised,” because apparently the dimwits over there had taken Dorian Johnson’s testimony (the thug who assisted Brown in an earlier strong-arm robbery of a convenience store) who claimed that Brown was shot “with his hands up,” as gospel.

Of course, Johnson also testified that Brown was “shot in the back,” which was proven to be false. Generally, one lie impeaches the rest of one’s testimony.

CNN and other media outlets simply haven’t wanted to know the actual facts of certain cases.

In the Staten Island incident, Eric Garner was a much more sympathetic character simply because he resisted arrest without violence. BUT, Eric Garner (1) was breaking the law, (2) the police had been called by local store owners complaining that Garner was camped out in front of their stores, intimidating customers and (3) when police approached Mr. Garner, he actively resisted arrest and refused to cooperate with arresting officers (itself a criminal act – RESISTING ARREST). Moreover, the entire incident was supervised by a black, female Sergeant. In the NYPD, only Sergeants carry tasers, so one was available, so was pepper spray, but apparently both of those options were deemed too risky with a morbidly obese, middle aged asthmatic man, so they opted for what they almost all certainly thought would be the least risky procedure – the quick take-down. NONE of that was explained, or even reported by the media.

I wonder WHY?

Interestingly enough, there have been a number of whites recently killed by police and the way those incidents have been treated is an eye-opener.

In Albuquerque last March, James Boyd, a white homeless man was shot and killed by Albuquerque police after he refused to comply with their orders. Just as Eric Garner was, James Boyd was breaking the law and he was resisting arrest, also WITHOUT violence. The cops on-scene shot Boyd first, with bean bag rounds, then had a canine attack him...then STILL ultimately shot him 12 times, killing him, despite the fact that Mr. Boyd was far less threatening, belligerent, and more distant (about 30′ from police) than Mr. Garner was! Apparently the Boyd killing hasn’t generated much outrage because he was white, so unlike Eric Garner and Mike Brown, he didn’t have that coveted “black skin privilege.” Seriously...what else could it be? Boyd’s incident was far, FAR closer to a legitimate police overreaction than either the Garner or Brown incidents and yet almost no one’s heard of it.

Likewise, the killing of Patricia Cook, a white, 54-year-old Sunday School teacher, in the Epiphany Catholic School parking lot at around 10 a.m. on Thursday February 9^th, 2012, didn’t raise many eyebrows at all. No protests, no slogans...no CNN-fueled faux controversies...NOTHING!

Apparently Ms. Cook also didn’t share Mr. Garner’s and Mr. Brown’s black skin privilege.

A witness, Kris Buchele, a carpenter, who was working on the house next door says he heard loud arguing outside and looked through a window where he had a clear view of the school parking lot. State police claimed that Ms. Cook rolled up the window, catching the officer’s arm inside, and then dragged him.

Mr. Buchele said that it didn’t happen that way. He described an encounter which looked and sounded like the officer shooting a person a point blank range, not because he feared for his life, but because the woman did not obey his order to stop rolling up the window.

“He was right next to the vehicle. He had one hand on the door handle and one hand on his weapon. And she was rolling the window up. And they were exiting out of the parking lot.

“The window was half way up he said ‘stop or I’ll shoot.’ I really didn’t think he was going to do it. But she got the window all the way up and that’s when he shot. And then she took a left out of the parking lot here and he stepped out in the street and fired five more times,” said Buchele.”

As a result, police officer Daniel Harmon-Wright, of Culpeper, Virginia, who shot and killed the former Sunday school teacher (Patricia Cook) in February 2012, was sentenced to three years in prison in May of 2013.

Compare, Ms. Cook’s circumstance to that of Edward Jones, shot by South Carolina Highway Trooper, Sean Groubert over a seat belt stop that went bad when Mr. Jones dove back into his vehicle to apparently comply with Mr. Groubert’s demand for his license. Mr. Groubert faces life in prison and Mr. Jones is still alive, while Ms. Cook is dead!

There have also been a number of whites shot by black police officers. In Salt Lake City, Utah Officer Tron Cruz shot and killed an unarmed 18 y/o white teen, Dillon Taylor (http://wreg.com/2014/11/25/salt-lake-cop-cleared-in-shooting-of-unarmed-white-man/) and in Mobile, Alabama Gilbert Collar, a white, unarmed 18-year-old under the influence of drugs was shot and killed October 6^th, 2012, by Officer Trevis Austin, who is black, in Mobile, Alabama (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/nov/27/white-teen-gilbert-collar-killed-by-black-cop-trev/?page=all). Again, no false narratives, no media hysteria, no CNN-fueled outrage!

I’m beginning to see a pattern here, aren’t you?

OK, so even if the meme is “America’s war on black men,” then WHY was the murder of Police Officer Kevin Jordan (who is black) of the Griffin, Georgia Police Department, gunned down on May 31^st, 2014 by Michael Bowman, who is white so utterly overlooked?!

HERE is a case of a white man murdering a black police officer! Where were Jesse Jackson and “The Reverend” Al Sharpton? WHERE was CNN?!

Was there any looting and burning on the streets of Griffin, Georgia?

No, in fact, it’s barely been covered in the news.

Why?

I suppose you could ask CNN, but you can probably draw your own conclusions.
