Al Sharpton's Anti-Civil Rights Crusade

Al Sharpton

Recently, Al Sharpton has inanely campaigned to make it a federal crime for a white person to shoot a black person even is self-defense.

“We Must Make It A Federal Crime For White People To Shoot Black People Ever, Including In Self Defense!” (Al Sharpton)....(http://buzzpo.com/sharpton-we-must-make-it-a-federal-crim…/…), BUT the article below makes clear the very ugly reality of inter-racial crime in America today.

Ironically enough, a recent evaluation of violent crime in the city of St. Louis found that,"Over Five Years, 13,000 People in St. Louis Murdered, Shot, or Robbed At Gun Point: The Common Denominator being a Black Person Almost Always Holding the Gun.." (http://stuffblackpeopledontlike.blogspot.com/…/over-five-ye…)

What apparently fueled Sharpton's anti-Civil Rights (yes, self-defense IS a basic Civil Right) crusade was this, "Earlier this week, the Justice Department ruled there was insufficient evidence to charge George Zimmerman with violating the civil rights of Trayvon Martin in the 2012 self defense shooting. That sparked some ludicrous words from Al Sharpton on Wednesday mornings Tom Joyner Morning Show."

[The reason the DoJ came to that finding was that ALL evidence showed that Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman first, allegedly for following him...and yes, that amounts to felony assault by Trayvon Martin]

"Sharpton explained to Tom Joyner, “The intent to prove that Zimmerman did it because of his race, that is the legal threshold. Unless we change that legislation, we end up where we are in terms of the Trayvon Martin case. Clearly I’m disappointed. Clearly I’m sure the family is. But clearly the Justice Department cannot go beyond the laws as is written. As we fight these fights and continue to fight from Staten Island to Ferguson, we must change the threshold that you qualify a civil rights case for, or we will keep having these moments of activism that end up with cases of being disappointing.” (http://buzzpo.com/sharpton-we-must-make-it-a-federal-crim…/…)

It's certainly NOT the first time that Al Sharpton spoke without understanding the issue, nor the Constitution. (HINT: You can eradicate self-defense for a singel, specific group...ALL self-defense would ahve to be eradicated Al.) What a DOPE!

Well, here are the actual facts in stark visual form;

This is an Interesting Article as it Highlights the Stigma of Bypassing Traditional Standards...

Latino firefighters say they were forced to take race-based promotions or face never being promoted at all as part of a policy the fire department says aims to boost diversity in management positions.

Here in New York City, Hispanic firefighters were NOT a part of the initial lawsuit brought against the City's (1999 and 2002) Entrance Exams. They were put on that lawsuit by a federal judge and then denied compensatory damages, as those were only made available for black applicants. (http://nypost.com/…/payouts-start-flowing-in-fdny-discrimi…/).

In Chicago, Hispanic firefighters who'd passed the Lieutenants exam, claim they were "bullied" into accepting quota promotions when the city told members who'd bypassed such promotions twice, that if they passed it up a third time, they'd be taken off the list they earned the right to be on by passing the exams. The COSTS of Public Services Are Reaching Critical Mass

This (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/why-firefighters-are-underworked-and-overpaid/article24459593/?fb_action_ids=923328281047508&fb_action_types=og.shares) is an interesting article ("Why firefighters are underworked and overpaid") from a perspective that many public sector workers don't hear much....nor want to hear.

This is going to be a continuing discussion. One that'll almost certainly only get louder and LOUDER. It's also a very uncomfortable conversation for a lot of public workers (cops, firefighters, teachers, even public nurses, physicians, etc.).

We've seen rampant wage deflation throughout the U.S. and what Margaret Went (the author) is saying in this article is that (especially) small communities can't afford the high costs of their public services any more.

Here's a part of our problem, so many "pro-Union" public service workers did NOTHING while other industires (mostly in the private sector) were "outsourced" (sending factories to foreign destinations) and "in-sourced" (with chaep migrant labor) forcing millions of Americans to compete in a downward wage spiral. We took the reviled "IGM" (I've got mine") approach.

NOW we're increasingly living in a low wage world and the rest of America's low wage workers are looking squarely at us. That's a BIG part of the reason both wages and benefits (pensions and medical benefits) are under attack.

Like in a lot of areas, "we are all too often our own worst enemies."

Another Race Crime in D.C.?

Daron Wint and the family he murdered, including 10 y/o

The police have just identified a suspect in the horrific home invasion, murder, arson crime in Washngton, D.C., in which the Savopoulos family and their housekeeper were all murdered.

His name is Daron Wint and he's been charged with first degree murder and police have offered a bounty of up to $25,000 for information that leads to his arrest. His DNA was found on a Domino's Pizza that was ordered the night of the attacks.

Savvas Savopoulos, 46; Amy Savopoulos, 47; their 10-year-old son, Philip; and housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa, 57, were all found dead. It's been reported that, "Investigators have not revealed a motive in the killing, but believe that money could be a possible reason."

OK, "money" is a motive for robbery.

Hatred, rage, jealousy, are the most likely motives for murder.

Sorry, but as unsavory as this might seem, this has all the makings of a racial murder.
I am NOT a supporter of "hate crimes laws" because they amount to thought crimes, BUT I do acknowledge what few pro-hate crimes supporters seem to either understand or admit to...and that is, virtually ALL inter-racial violence is racially motivated.

AGAIN, I DO NOT believe in punishing people MORE for an alleged "hate crime" (especially given how unfairly applied those laws are) than for a run-of-the-mill violent crime.
For instance, James Byrd's murderes got the death penalty (which they deserved) for the MURDER of James Byrd, in Texas which had no "hate crimes" statutes on the books at the time.

Ironically enough, those murderes would've gotten life without parole max, in states like New York or California where "hate crimes" statutes have long been established.

Another thing that this sort of crime makes clear is the DYSGENICS of crime.\
WHY is violent crime so debilitatng to any society.

Simply put, because the victims are almost always far more productive and talented than their asailants.

Back in October of 2001, Investment banker Ted Ammon (a brilliant investor by all accounts) was murdered by a handyman named Danny Pelosi, who later married Ammon's widow Generosa.

The world lost an invaluable, irreplacable rsource in Ted Ammon and none of those involved in his death (certainly not the dull-normal Pelosi) could replace Ammon's contributions.

SAME here. It's not much of a guess to speculate that Mr. Wint is entirely unable (no matter how much money might be wasted on trying to educate this guy) to replace the incredibly productive gifts of Savvas Savopoulos, who was the CEO of American Iron Works, a supplier of metal to building projects across the region. Those two cases are merely instructive, they are NOT at all untypical of the dysgenic disposition of most violent crimes.

America's criminal justice system has failed on so many levels.

It's failed to properly deal with bias/hate crimes.

It's failed to prioritize violent crimes as seriosuly as warranted and it's failed to deliver the kind of draconian and public punishments that violent crimes cry out for, especially given how utterly any and all attempts at "rehabilitating" violent offenders has proven to be.

Funny Sh*t!....OK, Not so Funny, But Kind of Ironic...

Baltimore bloods crips and noi 3…Police are struggling to stop violence in West Baltimore, where officers have been routinely surrounded by dozens of people, video cameras and hostility while doing basic police work since the death of Freddie Gray, Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts said Wednesday.

What's kind of sad is how the people who generate these disasters with their own disastrous policies are perpetually "shocked" at the (to everyone else) all too obvious outcomes.

Let's Turn This Around...WHY NO Sympathy for the Waco, TX Bikers From Our Reflexively Anti-Cop Media???

waco 13
Bikes Outside Twin Peaks Restaurant in Waco, TX

One of the things I found quizzical (yeah, that might be the best word) was the complete lack of sympathy by the reliably anti-police media following the death of nine bikers at a biker brawl in Waco Texas.

And I'm not just talking about consistent goofballs like Sally Kohn and Melissa Harris-Perry, but ALL of the major media.

Right away, the police were seen as "right," by that same usually anti-cop media, and the criminals (in this case bikers) "wrong," apparently ONLY because the bikers were (mostly) white!

Now, it turns out that the original reports on the incident may have been made...in error. (http://theconservativetreehouse.com/…/breaking-cctv-video-…/)

Waco police initially stated that all the gunshots came from within the Twin Peaks restaurant, which would suggest that all the shots came from the bikers.

Video evidence now proves that to be inaccurate, in fact, highly inaccurate. The available CC video suggests that Sunday’s deadly gunfight began outside the Twin Peaks restaurant, except for one round fired by a biker on the patio who then ran inside.

Accoring to the routinely reliable LAST REFUGE outlet, "On the patio, bikers ducked under tables and tried to get inside. At least three people were holding handguns. One biker was seen running with blood on his face, hands and torso.

"Before the shooting, the inside of the restaurant appears to be mostly empty. Bikers and other patrons can be seen walking to the windows facing the parking lot where most of the shooting happened.

"When gunfire begins at 12:24 p.m., most bikers, other patrons and staff immediately run away from the windows and into the restaurant’s interior...

"...Among those arrested was Theron Rhoten, who had just pulled into the parking lot on his vintage Harley chopper when the bullets started flying.

Rhoten showed up at the Twin Peaks restaurant for a regional motorcycle club meeting. But, according to his wife, he soon found himself in the middle of a deadly shootout involving scores of other bikers.

Katie Rhoten said her husband ran for cover and was later arrested, along with motorcycle-riding friends and other “nonviolent, noncriminal people.”

“He’s good to his family,” she said. “He doesn’t drink. He doesn’t do drugs. He doesn’t party. He’s just got a passion for motorcycles.”

The police reported that all those arrested were part of criminal motorcycle gangs, but ONLY TWO of the NINE PEOPLE KILLED HAD CRIMINAL HISTORIES.

Records for one of those with criminal records show that Wayne Lee Campbell was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2002 in Rowlett in Dallas County and sentenced to probation. In 2007, Campbell had also been charged with assault in Tarrant County and served 45 days in jail. The other member with a criminal history was Manuel Isaac Rodriguez, who was arrested in 2010 and served probation for unlawfully carrying a weapon at a bar in Lewisville. Not exactly the extensive criminal records you'd expect from hardcore gangbangers.

Recently Waco police have acknowledged firing on armed bikers, but it is not clear how many of the dead were shot by gang members and how many were shot by officers.

Police radio traffic of the event was recently released (http://theconservativetreehouse.com/…/listen-to-police-rad…/).

Interestingly enough, the number of armed law enforcement officers on scene – PRIOR to the event has now increased to MORE than 22 including: 10 Members of SWAT, 1 Asst Police Chief, 2 Sargent’s and 1 rookie officer, from Waco PD; the rest from Waco County and Texas DPS.
It's also now been reported, but not yet confirmed, that ALL of the deceased WERE KILLED BY POLICE. Autopsy records show that all nine died of gunshot wounds, no stabbing wounds or “other”:

◾Jesus Delgado Rodriguez, 65, died of gunshot wounds of the head and trunk.

◾Jacob Lee Rhyne, 39, died of gunshot wounds to the neck.

◾Richard Vincent Kirshner, Jr., 47, died of gunshot wounds but the report did not specify where he was shot.

◾Richard Matthew Jordan, III, 31, died of gunshot wounds to the head.

◾Wayne Lee Campbell, 43, died of gunshot wounds to the head and trunk.

◾Daniel Raymond Boyett, 44, died of gunshot wounds to the head.

◾Matthew Mark Smith, 27, died of gunshot wounds to the trunk.

◾Manuel Issac Rodriguez, 40, died of gunshot wounds but the report did not specify where he was shot.

◾And Charles Wayne Russell, 46, died of gunshot wounds to the chest.

The point isn't merely about possible police overreaction here, as I tend to believe that police react differently (and for very good reason) when confronted by potentially dangerous situations. Bikers present a very real threat, or "dangerous situation," just as do black males who've committed 50% of all the murders nationwide in the USA since 1976 (SEE:http://blogs.channel4.com/…/factcheck-black-americans…/19439)....Sooooo, while police actions here probably SHOULD BE more closely scrutinized, the REAL issue here is how those in the national media (especially CNN & MSNBC) sought to push back against the narrative that many of the recently highlighted police killings were the fault of aggressive felons, like Mike Brown (who assaulted a cop and tried to take away his gun), Eric Garner (killed while actively resisting arrest) and others, by falsely insinuating that the issue is a racial one. Remember James Boyd (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tpAZObNZfI) and Robert Earl Lawrence (http://theconservativetreehouse.com/…/death-for-kindness-m…/), despite the FACT that blacks commit far more violent crimes, more whites are killed by police each year.

In short, out of a narcissistic, defensiveness the national media engaged in some blatant racism...obvious and undeniable "disparate treatment," treating white suspects differently than it treated black suspects.

They've asked, "WHY haven't these bikers been called thugs" (they were)...and apparently wrongly, since only 2 of the 9 killed had relatively minor criminal records.

The media treated this incident EXACTLY the opposite from the way they treated the Michael Brown and Eric Garner killings.
And THAT is a major story...and a major disgrace.

Like I said....quizzical.

Intolerance is ALL the SAME

Scott Stringer (L) and Ruben and Leslie Diaz (inset)

It's interesting (actually odd, is a better word) that so amany people who relied upon 'tolerance," of new ideas, show little tolerance themselves.

As an example, the nation and increasingly, the world has become more accepting of homosexuality, with a slew of court cases advancing gay marriage, and other pro-gay causes.

However, in recent years, many of the purveyors of "tiolerance" have become increasingly intolerant themselves. THAT has got to change.

An example of that was highlighted a few days ago when it was reported that NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer's office had abruptly fired Leslie Diaz (wife of State Senator Ruben Diaz...the nepotism and cronyism evidenced there is sadly par for the course in many government positions) after having interviewed and hired her for a job in that office. She claims she was interviewed three times, offered a position, then resigned from her current job to accept that new position, before being let go two days before she was scheduled to report for work. (http://www.pressreader.com/…/20150…/283046938061693/TextView)

Turns out that Ruben Diaz is also a Pentecostal Minister and, as such, condemns homosexuality as "sinful," and opposes same-sex marriage.

Scott Stringer apparently saw a video of Ms. Diaz alongside her husband at "a peaceful demonstration...in opposition to same-sex marriage." In the wake of that video, he rescinded the job offer to Leslie Diaz.

Interestingly enough, that is the SAME intolerance that would have an employer firing an employee for merely exprerssing pro-gay, or pro-samesex marriage views. BOTH are wrong.

Ironically enough our very 1st Amendment enshrines religious freedom, which protects religions from government action for things like preachingthat homosexuality is "sinful and wrong."

I am not at all religious, BUT I understand that tolerance is a TWO-WAY street. Religious freedoms MUST be respected AND they can coexist with personal freedoms, such as the freedom to express views that run counter those taught by various religions.

Tolerance IS a virtue. It's time we ALL start living up to it, by looking at ourselves first and our own intolerances.
