CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) has made clear that their stated view is, "[Identifying] for Americans, the tenets of ‘radical Islam’ crosses the line into government interference in religious beliefs..." (http://thefederalistpapers.org/us/us-muslims-issue-unprecedented-threat-to-trump)
Do you get that? They're claiming that ANY governmental investigation, aimed at DEFINING what, exactly, are to be considered "radical" or "jihadist" beliefs or principles is Unconstitutional.
The 1st Amendment doesn't protect criminal activity under the guise of religion, nor does it protect religious beliefs from criminal sanctions when they violate State or Federal laws.
Some truth about what CAIR really is, seems necessary. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has designated CAIR a terrorists and includes them on a list of Muslim Brotherhood affiliated groups.
In 2009, a federal judge found that CAIR is connected to the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas that seeks the destruction of Israel through jihad.
This is NOT a decent group with decent goals and aspirations. CAIR is "An enemy within."
