What a Terribly Sad Story...I mean...What a Terrible LIE

The NY Times (of all places) has reported on yet another Hillary Clinton exagger-LIE.

NY Times reporter Deborah Sontag notes; "Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee. The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured. "We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story," said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O'Bleness Health System. Linda M. Weiss, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit hospital, said the Clinton campaign had never contacted the hospital to check the accuracy of the story"

Hmmmm, the Clinton campaign "didn't contact the hospital to check the accuracy of the story."

Are you even supposed to do that any more?

Oh yeah, I guess you are.

I read a headline the other day, "Hillary Lied. People Yawned." Ain't it the truth. It just depends on how much support you get from the MSM. Many people claim not to be swayed by the MSM, but I think this kind of thing proves they are more influenced by it than they realize.

The story smelled "stinkowith" to me from the beginning, since it is FEDERAL LAW that no one can be denied access to health care based on the ability - or even resistence - to pay. I should know. I'm paying fees for those weekend emergencies I had when I had no health insurance.

Oh yeah, Dan O, AlGore didn't do Hillary any favors.

You know there's still speculation (hope?) among some Left-wing loons that AlGore will "ride to the rescue" for the Democrats, if this thing comes down to a brokered Convention.

I think Hillary's lies are getting a lot more attention lately because the MSM is solidly behind Barack Obama.

If it were Hillary running against, say Giuliani, for the NY Senate race, they'd not only be ignoring her most blatant lies, but defending the ones they couldn't ignore, while bashing Rudy for bringing them up.

Absolutely Rachel.

The idea that her campaign "didn't vet the story first," is completely unbelievable.

In fact, it's unfunded federal mandates like the one requiring all hospitals to treat the uninsured that has our healthcare system on the brink of ruin. People from all over the world have come here to get "free health care," while Americans, even those with insurance, often get substandard care, compared to those who get "free" procedures.

She's close to that edge Roadhouse!

But I'm glad she's staying in, it's only hurting the Democrats right now.
